Northern Beaches Wedding Photographer: Matt and Chrissy

I decided last year that I really wanted to start photographing weddings. The idea terrified me but I didn't want to let that stop me, so I made it my goal to start second shooting in 2017. So earlier this year, when I got a message from my friend Liv that her friend was looking for a wedding photographer and would I be interested, I practically shouted at her, "YES!"

She put me in touch with Chrissy, and I connected with her and her fiancé from the first moment I met them, bonding over Anne of Green Gables, yoga and the joys and stresses of wedding planning. I knew right away that their wedding would be something special, and I was honoured that they would trust me to capture it.

Sure enough, their wedding was magical. I remember when I first met Chrissy and Matt, Chrissy mentioned that she'd looked at an almanac for their wedding date and it had said the weather would be "abundantly sunny." When I woke up on their wedding day to a gorgeous autumn morning, my first thought was, "it came true". The whole day was abundantly sunny in every way, and Bilgola Beach was the perfect backdrop.

Their wedding was a meaningful, intimate and joyful celebration of their love and their story. Their family and friends were sweet and welcoming, not to mention super fun on the dance floor! And the best part of the day... when Chrissy and Matt surprised all their loved ones with their very exciting news, a baby on the way!
